FIFA 2006 World Cup Preparations
Well, the Bengt-Mark Room is preparing for the FIFA 2006 World Cup. My roommate Bengt's enthusiasm has rubbed off off on me. I have watched some games on TV and have learned the names of the major players, including those on Sweden’s team. Matter of fact I even bought a poster with the all the participant team's photos and groupings and match times for our room.
Since I will be rooting for both the US and Sweden teams during the world cup, I have noted my Swedish roots. I know I have Swedish ancestors on both my mother's and father's side. Heck, despite not having blond hair and blue eyes, I still think I look a little northern European. Bengt has taught me some Swedish, but it is not easy! The games start Friday in the host country Germany. Bengt will probably start missing classes and staying up all night to watch games. He watched games at night before during the European Championships, with no sound, so I had no problem sleeping.
