Who's owns this room?
Has it been two weeks since I updated this? I'm sorry. My goal is to try to update the journal at least once a week. But this has been the pattern for me recently. I just have not been able to stick to all those wonderful resolutions I had at the beginning of the year. First, I could not get myself to open the math book everyday. I think I was going for too much. Kind of perfectionist in a way. I was going to make myself go through everything and every page. But maybe I should just look over it, try to make it more fun. But nonetheless, I have not looked at my math book in over a week. Second, studying 10 Chinese words a day or at least an hour. That too got moved to the back burner. I listen to great website to learn Chinese called chinesepod to improve my listening, but I have not been proactive about learning new words. I can't give up on this goal, it's too important!
Finally, the exercise. Up until about two days ago I was doing good. I would wake up first thing every morning and go outside. I ran four laps around the courtyard and then do jump rope 400 times. Then I would go back to my room and do push up about 120 times. Then a couple of days ago I started have back pain and stopped doing any exercise out of concern. The back pain has subsided but I ask myself when can I go back to doing exercise again.
Then finally, I have been having "issues" with Snowball, my cat. First, having Snowball in my room is like having a crazy animal in my house. He runs back and forth all the time, jumps on everything, pulls pencils out of cups, knocks over books, makes everything fall on the floor, chews on every wire, climbs the curtains, spills stuff on the floor, and sheds hair that is hard to clean. On top of that, sometimes his pet food is as much as one meal for me, and don't mention his cleaning costs and shots. A few days ago I found that he chewed through one of my speaker wires and I couldn't use one speaker anymore. Today I almost hit the roof though when I found I couldn't use my computer mouse. Snowball had chewed through the cord. I got so upset I roared in anger and threw the broken mouse at him. Unfortunately, I did not catch him in the act so he had no clue why I was angry. I started debating with myself is it really worth it to have him. In some ways he is good to have because he gives me someone to take care of and I have a bit of a schedule with him. I have learned some things about taking care of an animal and I can see how that might relate to having kids someday.
However, with the other above mentioned difficulties, I wonder if it would not be better just to take him back to the store where someone with a more cat friendly house and attitude couldn't take care of him. I would be sad to lose him though.
On the website front, I created a new Photo Album of my pictures form China. Basically, I am adding all the pictures I have taken here and on my travels. It's nice because all the pictures are hosted on my website instead of using another website which has passwords and restrictions. Also people can add comments to my pictures and I can even put a "Getpowers.com" watermark on the pictures in the future. I can even set up a shopping cart if anyone wants to buy any.
