I got my CFA books today!! They were shipped UPS and got here in about a week. I have been staying at home all the time waiting, so I was happy when they arrived. There are 6 books, each book is like a school textbook, nearly one thousand pages! Ethical and Professional Standards and Quantitative Methods, Economics, Financial Statements Analysis, Corporate Finance and Portfolio Management, Equity and Fixed Income, and finally... Derivatives and Alternative Investments. WOW!!!
I obviously have my work cut out for me. But I am excited. I have about 8 months to prepare. It feels like it would be like taking 2 semesters worth of classes in finance.
I will look through the books and get a feel for how my study goes and then see if I need to make adjustments for time, work etc. I plan to study during the day and work part-time at night.
