Dream Job!!!
Finally, the dream job I have been waiting for. The Phoenix Suns finally called me last night. The call was made on Phoenix time, so I was still asleep when the phone rang. However, as soon as I heard Mike D'Antoni, the head coach for the Suns, I was all ears.
He said, "Steve's (referring to 2 time MVP Steve Nash) going to be out for a couple of weeks due to an abdominal strain and we believe you can help us. We just need you to help us keep the ship afloat until we can make the playoffs." D'Antoni explained that the Suns are in a heated race with San Antonio Spurs for a playoff spot and with their Two-time All Star point guard out for a couple of weeks they need to find someone who can fill in. He said if I signed a 10 day contract, that should be what they need right now.
I was really happy, because the Suns recognized that whenever the chips are down and they need any help, they could call the world's number one Suns fan, Mark Powers, even if he was living in Beijing, China.
I said I would be happy to help and that they could count on me. I tried not to act too excited because I knew this was serious, and that would I be responsible for the helping the Suns make it to the championship.
Suddenly, the morning light peaked through the window and I woke up, only to realize I had been dreaming!
Happy April Fool's Day!
