Differences between the US and China
For the first few days back in America, after living in China for two years. All I could think or talk about was China and the amazing contrasts I could see between the US and China upon coming back home.
The colors of sky and buildings, the quality of the air, the less people on the streets, the number of cars, the signs in English everywhere, and foreigners everywhere. It was funny because in China, you feel a little excited when you see another foreigner besides yourself, in America, they are everywhere. I have to remember I am an American too.
I flew into my hometown Phoenix from Los Angeles last Saturday. I took a shuttle from the airport to our house. It cost $27! Expensive, but very convenient. The shuttle bus will take you from the airport directly to your home.
As soon as the shuttle bus stopped, Susan, Victor and the dogs all came out to greet me. We gave each other lots of hugs and Victor helped me bring my luggage into the house.
The nicest thing was that mom prepared one of my favorite foods, a giant fruit salad.
It took me a few days to get readjusted to US time. I stayed up late at night and woke up late for the past few days. But this morning, with the help from Zippy, our cute dog, I started waking up early. Zippy likes to jump up the bed every morning and lick my face.
There are two dogs, Zippy and Taz. Zippy is the smaller white and brown female dog and Taz is the dark haired male dog. Zippy is full of energy and like to bark and lick your face. Taz is kind of slow and doesn't bark at all, but loves to get his belly rubbed. Both are really cute.
There are also two cats in the house, but they are always hiding and I rarely see them at all.
I called the coach for my university racquetball team. He invited me to play with him this coming Saturday and I am very excited. It has been over two years since I played Racquetball and while I was in China, I missed it very much.
