Vacation in Colorado

Well the great vacation visiting Dad and his wife in Colorado came to a close. It was wonderful to just see them and see how there life was going. I was really impressed by the state of Colorado, its just beautiful.
Its seems to me like an interesting mix of the mid-west and the west. There are 1800's style homes and farms and brick buildings like the mid-west, and then there is the amazing backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. The temperature is very nice this time of year, but the air does seem a little thin because of the high elevation, you have to get used to it.

Hannah and her sister dog, EmaI also really liked Dad's dog, Hannah. Hannah is a Labra-doodle. A Labra-doodle is a crossbred or hybrid dog created by crossing the Labrador Retriever and the Standard or Miniature Poodle.

Dad climbing up the mountain to take pictures of elk at Rocky Mountain National ParkWe regularly took Hannah for walks in the neighborhood and went to Dog Parks. The Dog Parks in Colorado are great. It's amazing how there are parks for people to take there dogs and let them run around with other dogs, but in Colorado, these dog parks are really huge. There is one that is maybe the size of a few football fields. There are small ponds and creeks that flow through the park so the dogs can play, swim and cool off.

Elk at Rocky Mountain National Park We also went on a day trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. The views there were amazing. There are several mountains that are around 14,000 feet high. We stopped and took pictures of a small heard of elk grazing on the mountain tops. The elk are protected in the National Forests and Parks, but if they wander outside of those protected areas there is a chance they will be killed by hunters.

I think Colorado is a very "green" state. It seems that there is a good deal of people who care about the environment and use earth-friendly technology such as solar energy. I guess that people are in awe of the majestic beauty of the state and enjoy all the outdoor fun available such as biking, camping, and skiing, so people are more sensitive to any pollution or destruction of the natural environment.

Dad and I talked about about alternative energy during my stay. I am trying to figure out ways to inform the public and sell alternative energy products through my website. The website name "getpowers" is perfect for it too.
