Going West by Mark Powers

The biggest sports day in the US, the day of the Super Bowl. Over 120 million people are expected to watch the New York Giants against the New England Patriots.
However, in a much less hyped event just a few days ago, Yao Ming the Chinese star of the Houston Rockets NBA basketball team and Yi Lian Jian a compatriot who plays for the Milwaukee Bucks played against each other in a actual NBA game, and over 200 million people across China were glued to their TV screens.
I actually will probably watch neither game. I don't really care for any of the teams. However, I understand that the New England Patriots are trying to have a perfect season, going 19-0, so I have to be against them. That is because the last team to have a perfect season was the Miami Dolphins. I am not a Miami Dolphins fan either, but they were the 1972 Miami Dolphins, which happens to be a very special year.

Some events include:
Pink Floyd release "Dark Side of the Moon"
Summer Olympic Games held in Munich

Mark Powers (of GetPowers.com) Born

Christmas bombing campaign against Hanoi, North VietnamOil Crisis

So obviously 1972 was an important year and I would be a little disappointed to see the only team with a perfect 16-0 record be surpassed.
By the way, the Chinese New Years Eve TV Special was watched by about 800 million viewers around China last year.
