Historical nomination

Whether or not you like Barack Obama, I think his nomination, the first for an African American by a major party, is great for the country. It reinforces that America stands by its principles. Condoleezza Rice said "I think that what we're seeing is an extraordinary expression of the fact that 'we the people' is beginning to mean all of us.''
I think many minority groups in the US will feel enpowered by seeing Obama within reach of the Presidency. Its important to see that everyone has a chance, no matter what your skin color is.
