Tour of the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square!

Mark: Alright, Hello Mrs. Stevenson's class at Holmes Middle School. This is the Forbidden City. This is the entrance to the Forbidden City that only emperors could use.

That is a picture of Mao Ze Dong. Mao Ze Dong was the leader of China after World War II. He was the person who led a revolution to end, to end the control of the emperors and start a new China.

This bridge was use by the emperors. Only the emperor could walk across. The other bridges were for family members or other people. The only people allowed inside the Forbidden City was the emperor, his family, and his servants.

Ok, Hi Mrs. Stevenson's class, I'm standing next to a bridge here, inside the park near the Forbidden City. This is typical of Chinese architecture; very beautiful, round, clean shapes with white stone. In the back you can see a temple. You can see a temple with typical Chinese architecture. On top of the roof of the temple there are dragons and other mythical creatures.

We're standing in Tiananmen Square, the largest city square in the world. Across from me again is the Forbidden City. Over here we have the People's Congress Building. This is where the Chinese government operates. Over here is Mao Ze Dong's maoseleum. This is where Mao Ze Dong is buried. And finally over here is the Beijing Historical Mueseum. It has everything to do with China. And back over here is the Forbidden City, the entrance of the building. I think that's enough.
